Long Island is an island in the Metro New York area that extends eastward from New York City. While Long Island is home to seven million year-round residents, many of whom commute in and out of New York City, the Island also sees a lot of unnoticed tourists. It's a trip to the beach, more particularly Jones Beach and Robert Moses State Park. However, there are additional 100 or more beaches that ring Long Island, some of which have isolated outlying beaches.
